My No-Stitch Reupholstering Project

Here’s how I flipped my couch from THIS:

To THIS:

With no sewing necessary!

  1. I started out by measuring each individual section of the couch, then recording those measurements in a sketch on paper
  2. I cut fabric pieces out using those recorded dimensions
  3. I pinned the fabric in place
  4. I stapled along the edges of each piece. I found it easier to staple into wood than into another piece of fabric, but that may just be the staple gun I used!
  5. Style with your favorite pillows and grab a good book! 😉

Supply list:

You’re going to want REALLY good fabric scissors. You know, the kind that are almost a little TOO sharp and you’re afraid of them. That’s the vibe.

This was my first time using a staple gun and I really liked this one. I used the normal looking staples for my project. The noises are a little scary but just focus on keeping the gun in place as you “fire”.

Fabric! I got mine from JoAnn but I can’t find the exact one available online. Here are three options: one, two, or three.

You’re going to want fabric measuring tape – much better for a project like this than regular measuring tape, which can’t fold to the curves of your furniture.

You’re also going to want a good set of pins to keep your fabric in place before you go about stapling it.
